About me Welcome to Dr. Charles Labs. I am Dr. Smith Charles, a software engineering leader, architect, and researcher with a passion for deep-level systems programming, graphics optimization, and artif icial intelligence.

Experiences

My career bridges the gap between academic computer science and complex industrial execution. Holding a Ph.D. in Sciences of Design (with a specialization in Artif icial Intelligence) from INSA Lyon, I have spent the last two decades architecting safety- critical, high-integrity real-time software systems within the international rail transit industry (specif ically focusing on Automatic Train Control and Supervision systems).

Dr. Charles Labs serves as my independent technical sandbox and archive. Here, I publish and maintain legacy and modern research projects—ranging from expert- system generators (NASS) to specialized vector graphics enhancement utilities (EMFexplorer). This space is dedicated to the enduring art of clean architecture, optimized data structures, and foundational low-level systems engineering.
